The Ecclesiastical Museum of the Holy Metropolis of Maronia and Komotini houses the collection of religious objects (icons, sacred vessels, priestly vestments, manuscripts and liturgical books) collected from the temples of the ecclesiastical province of the relevant Metropolis and from the donations of the refugees who settled in the Komotini area.
The exhibits cover the period from the 16th to the early 20th century. and witness the post-Byzantine ecclesiastical art of the region. The purpose of the museum is the collection, preservation, maintenance, exhibition and display of all kinds of objects highlighting the ecclesiastical art and history of the Metropolis of Maronia and Komotini.
