Some history THE BEGINNING In the late 1700's the Trikene family moved to Mesolongi, from Kefalonia. Her only dowry is a recipe for ouzo. The founders of the distillery were the brothers Panos and Tasos Trikenes. The first cauldron operated in 1901 on D. Makri Street, in the old fish market. The cauldron was in the store. Ouzo came out slow for the needs of the day. The original hangout is adorned by an old marble counter that has glass sculptures on it. On the pedestrian street of the city, amidst trendy cafes, the Trikene Beverage stands out in its own way.
