Beskos Menelaos Psychologist - Psychotherapist - Group Psychoanalyst Pagrati Attica Menelaos Beskos has worked in the field of organizations, initially in the hotel industry and then in the banking sector. He completed his undergraduate studies in Business Administration and then successfully completed the graduate programs of E.E.D.E (Business Administration (MBA)) and the Economic University in Service Management (MSM). Along with his long journey in the field of business, he completed undergraduate studies in Psychology (Cardiff Metropolitan University) and then obtained the postgraduate program (MSc) in Organizational Psychology at East London University. In addition, he attended the NLP program, Time Line Therapy & Hypnosis and the specialization in couple therapy (SANE systemic method). Today, as a graduate of the five-year post-graduate training of Group Psychoanalysts of the Institute of Group Analysis of Athens (of which he remains a partner), he provides Individual and Group psychotherapy to the adult general population in his private office. It also provides Business Human Resource Development and Consulting services, through therapeutic interventions and seminars in the work sector. He has published articles on the management of corporate reputation capital and the conflicts that occur within organizations. He is a regular member of the Association of Greek Psychologists (SEPS), the Institute of Group Analysis of Athens, the National Society of Psychotherapy of Greece (EEPSE) and a recognized member of the EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION FOR PSYCHOTHERAPY (EAP). What is Group Analysis Group Analysis was developed and first applied in England in 1940. This form of psychotherapy arose in the context of the need to deal with the adverse conditions of hospitalization of the many soldiers with neurotic disorders during the Second World War. More specifically, its experimental application began in the military hospital of Northfield with theoretical clinicians such as: Anthony, Bierer, Bion, Bridger, Ezriel, Foulkes, Main and Rickman. The name Group Analysis and Group Analytic Psychotherapy was given by the psychiatrist and psychoanalyst S. H. Foulkes, one of the protagonists of the so-called "Northfield experiment" (Bion, 1961; Foulkes, 1975; Roberts, 1983; Wilke, 2014). As Tsegos (2002) mentions, Group Analysis is a psychotherapeutic approach which, although it comes from the tradition of psychoanalytic theory and incorporates its elements, is essentially different from it. In other words, while it borrows and uses many of the findings of classical psychoanalysis, it differs from it in key issues of theory and, above all, practice. Group Analysis puts the group as the focus of the diagnostic and therapeutic process: it is from it that any truths and conclusions derive, which may not be permanent and timeless, but are, however, valid and useful for the individuals of the specific group - many sometimes, in fact, even for a specific session, only. The characteristics of the group analytical approach include a) Focusing on the healthy part of the Ego b) Focus on the structural elements of the group. c) Ego training in action. d) Multiple transfer. e) Multiple levels of operation and communication f) Corrective emotional experience - function. She is the founder and director of Brain Matters Institute (an Ιnstitute dedicated to the practice, learning and promotion of psychological science) and The Global Institute for Children's Drawings an Institute that aims to study, analyze and assess children's and adults' drawings. In 2019, she was awarded (finalist) by the British Ambassador HE Kate Smith the British Alumni Award (2019) for her Professional Achievement as a Graduate of British Universities. Dr. Pentaraki has presented her work at international conferences and she has been awarded numerous grants. Her research and clinical work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals. She is an active researcher, writer and an anonymous scientific reviewer for International Journals.. She is a registered and accredited expert witness in Greek, European courts, The International Criminal Court, The Hague, The International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, United Nations. She has extensive experience in working with interpreters and cases from different countries and cultures. Her work as an expert witness and as a technical adviser entails high-risk cases, that involve prosecution and defense.
