It’s worth to mention that Camping Alkioni is open all year long. Covering 50,000 sq.m with a capacity of 167 pitches for tents, caravans and campers the campsite has all the facilities you need including four independent buildings for hot showers day and night, W.C, restaurant, mini market. There is also a beach bar, volley and basketball court, table tennis and a room where free Internet is provided. For those who don’t have their own tent or caravan in the campsite there are caravans to let for a few days or even for a whole year. From the '70s with love The history of Camping Ancient Assini Beach The story of Camping Ancient Assini Beach begins in the late 70s, in one of the most authentic and unpretentious corners of Argolis – Plaka beach, in Drepano, Nafplio. There, in an area full of orange trees, tangerine trees and positive energy, a small family campsite was born, but with a big heart. From the very first moment, the campsite was not just a place for vacations. It was – and remains – a lively meeting place. Where friendships began, summer stories were written, weddings and piggy banks took place, memories were built. And all this, not by chance, but because there is something deeply human in this corner of Plaka: the unpretentious hospitality, the family atmosphere, the feeling that you "belong". Since 1997, the baton of management has been taken over by Dimitris, son of the family that created the campsite. He himself grew up among the tents and orange trees, and continues with the same passion to welcome visitors of all ages, from every corner of Greece and the world. As he himself says, Camping Ancient Assini Beach is located in the only part of Plaka that doesn’t have… plaques! On the contrary, it has clear sea, shade from tall trees, simplicity, and a daily life that flows slowly, peacefully – just like summer should be. The camping areas retain references to the past: the reception with the painted Pink Floyd cover from 1978, the old telephone room, the young backpackers from France and Germany who continue to return every year. And of course, the large terrace with the wooden tables, the shared kitchen, the mini market, “mom’s” flowers, the bar just before the sea… All parts of an everyday life that knows how to honor the simple joys of life. For over four decades, Camping Ancient Assini Beach has remained stable over time. A place that doesn’t look like a “business”, but like a summer retreat.
