HOTEL PAPAFOTIS
Alinda is a small seaside village on the east coast of Alinda bay. The Hotel Papafotis can be found at the quietest end of the village, less than 30 metres from the beach, with views across the bay to the Castle and the harbour of Aghia Marina. The numerous tavernas of Alinda are open all day throughout the summer months and are only minutes away, as is the local supermarket. Alinda hosts the island's annual water-sports festival in August each year, and is close to the venues of other major cultural events, such as the Alonari in Gourna. The Leros museum, explaining the island's rich past, is housed in the Belleni Tower in the centre of Alinda. Car-hire and motorbike hire can be arranged by the hotel on request. Alinda is 5 minutes from the harbour of Aghia Marina by taxi. It is a leisurely 30 minute walk around the bay. The main port at Lakki is 15 minutes away by taxi. My Parents Haralambos and Alexandra met and got married in Australia. In 1969 they moved back to Kalymnos. In 1979 they decided to have their own "paradise" in Emporios, where my father grew up and always loved to be. Working very hard year after year, they created out of a barren mountain what we are all now able to enjoy! Our apartments block, is located on the northern part of Kalymnos at a tranquil village called Emporios (pronounced Em-bo-rios). It is a lovely and picturesque small village with little houses and narrow alleyways. A few accommodations are available in Emporios as well as some cafes, tavernas and nice beaches located at walking distance from the village. The chapel of the village has a beautiful whitewashed belltower with a blue dome. Emporios is the beggining of, as well as the destination of some of the most beautiful walking paths on the island! It is in walking/biking distance from many big and interesting rock-climbing sectors and hosts 2 of the most challenging ones: 'Styx' and 'Francois Guillot'. Emporios is also an interesting sailing destination, offering shelter to a significant number of sailing boats every year. Most of these sailors tend to return again and again, which is indicative of the quality of the place. The people of Emporios are genuine, open-handed, warm-hearted people who will try to make your visiting experience unforgettable. No wonder why some people who come here consider us a piece of heaven, fallen on earth! Harry’s Paradise is a 2-stars hotel. Our apartments are spacious, with large verandahs and view to our garden. The ones on the top floor also have full view to Emporios beach, which is 50 m down the road. The apartments are fully equipped with air conditioning, kitchenette, coffee machine and big, practical closets for your stuff. A daily cleaning service ensures they stay clean and fresh for you to rest in comfort. The matresses are anatomical, made with natural material and brand new.
