    Open: Winter: From November 1st to March 31st: 08:30-15:00 The Collection will be closed until 31-3-2015 due to lack of personnel.   Summer: The Collection remains closed due to lack of personnel.   Tickets: Full: €2, Reduced: €1 Special ticket package: Full: €2, Reduced: €1   The Archaeological-Folklore Collection entitled "Nape, city of Lesvos" was launched in September 2001 on the ground floor of the Elementary School of Nape. The space allotted by the Community to ensure the protection and promotion of the ancient architectural parts that were previously scattered in the rural region of Nape, but also to highlight the tradition of the region through everyday utilitarian objects of the villagers .   With the creation of the Collection the long-term desire of the Community residents to keep ancient relics in their remote village was satisfied, so he upgraded culturally and economically. Furthermore, the presentation of ancient and traditional items on the same site highlights the history and continuity of cultural heritage from antiquity to modern times.   Exhibition Units   1) Archaeological Collection. 2) Folklore Collection.   Exhibits report by themes: 1) Wind capitals unfluted flywheels and bases of columns archaic from trachyte stone, from the rural region of Nape. 2) Traditional everyday utensils, tools, costumes, animal parts from donations of the residents of Nape.

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL COLLECTION OF AGIOS KIRIKOS

    Open: Information at tel. +30 22750 31300   The Archaeological Collection of Agios Kirikos includes over 200 findings identified in the region, but also on the seabed. Among them, the visitor has the opportunity to see significant exhibits from the Archaic and Classical period, such as vases, columns, stone and bronze tools, preserved amphorae, found on the seabed, pedestals, etc. Columns, clay pots, tools, weapons and personal belongings. However, the most important exhibit is "Embossed Sanctuary" funerary relief of archaic and early classical periods, local artists work.

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL COLLECTION OF ELATIA

    Open: Sunday: 08:30-15:00 Daily (except Mondays): on request   The archaeological collection of Elatia includes findings from excavations in western Lokris, called northeastern Phokis in ancient times. In that area, along the Kifissos river basin, thirteen towns where situated, Erochos, Charadra, Lilea, Tithronion, Drimea, Amfiklia, Tritis, Pediis, Neonas, Tithorea, Elatia, Ledon and Parapotamii. On the eastern side, near Opountia Lokris border, there are cities of Yampolis and Avai, wlile close to the Boeotian border lied the towns of Davlia, Panopeus and Amvrossos. Amongst all towns of Fhokis, Elatia seems to have been the most influential over the ancient times, apparently due to its location and its role as a link in the trading route between Thermopylae and Chaeronea. The data available regarding the geometric and archaic periods are very few. However, the appears to be thriving during Hellenistic and Roman periods. It is considered to have been the largest town in Phokis at the time.

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL COLLECTION OF KOZANI

    Open: Winter: 08:30-15:00   Summer: Daily: 08:00-15:00 Sat / Sun: 08:00-18:00   In Kozani Archaeological Collection findings are kept from all over the county and can be grouped into two main themes:   a) Traditions findings, meditation and excavations, which were introduced in the collection until 1980. More important is that all the classic Kozani cemetery. The findings in this section dating from prehistoric to Roman times.   b) Tradition, meditation and excavation findings, which were introduced in the collection from 1980 and onwards. Most important sets of the second section from rescue, surface and excavations of prehistoric settlements of the Valley of the Yellow Lake, to rescue, surface and excavations in the Valley of the average flow of Aliakmon - pond Polyfytos and excavations at several archaeological sites in the prefecture of Kozani. The findings date from the earliest Neolithic to Roman times.

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL COLLECTION OF LIDORIKI

    Open: The collection is closed to the public.   The Archaeological Collection of Lidoriki falling by the Tenth Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities,  was founded to highlight the findings of the city of Kallio from the Geometric to the early Christian times. The findings from excavations and traditions and with the walls of it is that remains today of the ancient city of East Aetolia. The exhibition of the finds of beauty is particularly important because the building today remains flooded by the waters of the artificial lake of Mornos.   The exhibition is housed in the preserved stone building of the old school building (measuring 24,13 x 7,50 m.) And grows in both halls and the courtyard of the building. In the first room presented exhibits from the Geometric to Roman times and mostly the findings from the so-called "house file", a mansion house eminent Kallipolis as pottery, bronze and iron parts of the wooden doors and clay sealings that guaranteed the written in papyrus documents. On the wall are hung pieces with motifs of the mosaic Roman bath.   In the second room are inscribed mosaic floor-Christian basilica and small tombs from the Late Roman period. In the courtyard of the building exposed stone inscriptions save important information about the city's history.

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL COLLECTION OF NEAPOLIS

    Open: Closed to the public.   The Archaeological Collection of Neapolis was created before World War II and within two years included around 1000 items, found mostly in the area of Mirambello and in other sites of the Prefecture. During the Italian rule, thanks to the efforts of Emm. Mavroeidis (then ektaktos curator of Antiquities) the Collection was protected in the underground of the Club. Today it is housed in a building ceded to the Ministry of Culture by the Ministry of Health and the Municipality. The Collection is temporarily closed to the public.   It includes:   - Finds from the excavations of the French School of Archaeology at Elounta (1937)   - Finds from the excavations of the French School of Archaeology at Hellenika (1937)   - Finds from the excavations of the French School of Archaeology at Dreros (1937)   - Finds from the excavations of Emm. Mavroeidis at a Late Minoan tomb in Tourloti, near Seteia   - Finds from the excavations of Emm. Mavroeidis at a Hellenistic tomb at Kalo Chorio (ancient Istrona),   - Finds from the area of Mirambello, collected or given to the Ephorate   -Antiquities collected by the Italian forces from Aghios Nikolaos (ancient Lato pros Kamara) and other areas of the Prefecture   - Numismatic collection (coins given by citizens)

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF ABDERA

    Open: Monday-Sunday:08:30-15:00   For further information, please contact wih the Ephorate of Antiquities of Xanthi (+30 25410 51003, +30 25410 51783).   Tickets: Free admission.   The exhibition includes objects found in the ancient city and its cemeteries and covers the period from the 7th century BC until the 12th century AD. Its main objective is educational. It mainly displays the daily life of the ancient Avdirites through the objects used by ordinary people in their daily activities.   The exhibition is structured thematically. Each module includes all objects from the city life periods arranged according to their use. Each module is divided into thematic sub-groups:   I. Public Life (Religion, Administration, Military Activity, Coinage)   II. Private Life (Professional and Building Activities, Trade, Crafts and workshops, Domestic chores, Clothes-grooming, Children's life)   III. Burial Customs (Graves, Burial signals, Graves Representations).   In this way it presents the evolution of the city and gradual changes in the residents' lives and on the construction of the objects themselves become apparent. Illustrative texts, photographs, drawings, maps and diagrams provide additional information to the visitor.

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF AGIOS NIKOLAOS

    Open: Winter: From November 1 to March 31: 08:30-15:00   Summer: From July 1 to October 31 Monday: closed Tuesday - Sunday: 08:00 to 19:30   Tickets: Full: €3, Reduced: €2   The Archaeological Museum of Agios Nikolaos was created to exhibit finds from eastern Crete which until then were transported to the Museum of Heraklion. The exhibition has not been finalized yet, but does cover a huge period from the Neolithic Age to the end of the Greco-Roman period. Visitors can follow the evolution of art in the region through representative samples of various styles and eras. Largest and most important groups are the offerings from the Early Minoan cemetery of Aghia Fotia, near Sitia (3000-2300 BC) in the first room and the findings from the palace of Mallia brought to light by the investigations of the French Archaeological School, in the fourth room. Most famous object is considered the libation vessel that became known as the "Goddess of Myrtos".

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF AGRINION

    Open: Tuesday - Sunday: 08:00-15:00.   Monday closed.   Tickets: Full: €2, Reduced: €1 Special ticket package: Full: €8, Reduced: €4   The Archaeological Museum of Agrinion was founded in the 1960s and housed in a building which was built with a donation of brothers Papastratos who dealt with tobacco trade in the early 20th century. The Papastratos brothers cared for their hometown and offered to it in numerous projects, including the Archaeological Museum of the city. The museum was opened in 1969 and has been operating in the same building until today. The large number of archaeological sites of the prefecture always supplied the museum with new findings.   The Archaeological Museum of Agrinion is located at the southeast corner of Papastratos park, next to the old Papastratos Library. Half the building housed the Municipal Library and the other half the museum. Now the entire building is housing the Museum and both Incorporated halls of the Library serve as a workshop and warehouse. The Museum's collections are being exhibited in the small hall and two rooms, and include pottery, tools, metal objects, tombstones and sculptures from various places of the county. In other words, the Museum contains the cultural treasures of the wider area of the region, dating from the Neolithic Age (7000 BC) to the late Roman period (4th century AD).
