MUNICIPAL GALLERY OF CORFU
Open: Winter: From the 1st of November until the 31 of March: 8:30-15:00 he Municipal Gallery of Corfu has been in operation since 1978 in a building which is a legasy of the Dalietos family. When the gallery became a leggaly-recognized public institution in 1991, an effort was made to make its collection, mainly constituted by donated works, more widely known. Among the most important collections are those of the Samartzis collection (42 works), the Aglaia Papa (23 works) and Philippos Makotsis (12 works) collections; while there are also two works donated by Nikolaos Ventouras. The greater part of the collection of the Municipal Gallery of Corfu consists of works by 19th-century Corfiot painters (Haralambos Pachis, Pavlos Prossalendis the younger, Angelos Giallinas, Vicentios Boccaciampis, S. Skarvelis, Lyk. Koyevinas, G. Samartxis); this is the period which produces some of the most representative painters of the Ionian islands.Category: MUSEUMS

Open: Winter: From the 1st of November until the 31 of March: 8:30-15:00 The Gallery today houses one of the most representative and authoritative collections of 20th-century Greek painting. Most of the Greek painters who worked creatively during these nine decades, developing the features of modern Greek painting, are represented in this collection through some of their most characteristic works. There are works which marked the creative evolution of these artists, and which were presented in formal exhibitions both in Greece and abroad. The collection of the Municipal Art Gallery includes works by K. Maleas, C. Parthenis, F. Kontoglou, Theophilos, N. Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas, Sp. Vassiliou, J. Spyropoulos, Y. Open: Tuesday-Sunday: 09.00-16.00 Monday: Closed The goals of the Municipal Museum of the Kalavritan Holocaust are the following: Α. To collect, document, preserve, exhibit and interpret all kinds of museological material associated with the events of the Holocaust of December 13, 1943 in Kalavrita and all the events before and after the Holocaust in the wider area of the Kalavritan province. Β. To promote education and research by organizing temporary exhibitions, educational programs, lectures and conferences, publications in relation with the legal entity’s goals. C.
