It contains exhibits dating from the Paleolithic to the Late Roman period and from various excavations throughout the island of Evia. Large archaeological objects modules making up the report about the ceramic different time periods, the plastic from the Archaic to the Roman era, arms and in metallurgy, in mints from major cities of Gujarat and also the inscriptions and resolutions. The most important exhibits of the museum, which cause great impression, are those from the prehistoric settlement of Manika, but high art statues.

    Open: Τhe Museum will be closed to the public from May 2012 until summer 2015 due to renovation works funded in the context of the Regional Operational Programme of Western Greece – Peloponnese - Ionian Islands (project title 'Retrofit and re-exhibition at the Archaeological Museum of Corfu).   Corfu Archaeological Museum houses findings derived exclusively from the island of Corfu and revealed with them the cultural presence over time in the ancient world. The aim of the museum is to bring together visitors with its ancient ancestor, through creations. Also to demonstrate the continuity of civilization in the island of Corfu and create the foundations that will help everyone to experience its cultural identity and to embrace the usefulness and necessity of preservation.   The need to extend the museum and re-exposing is constantly growing due to new archaeological finds.

It was built to house the many important findings of the multi-annual excavation of the Sanctuary of Asklepios (1881-1928), conducted by the archaeologist Panagis Kavvadia and Archaeological Society.   The exhibits date from the Archaic to the Roman era. The kind of exhibits varies and includes inscriptions, medical instruments, simas ancient buildings, crown tiles, reliefs, large statues and many offerings of small size, and large sections of significant ancient buildings from the sanctuary of Asclepius: a) Propylaea, b) Temple of Asclepius, c) Temple of Artemis, d) Tholos Epidaurus, e) and the known major unfinished Corinthian capital found near Dome. Also in the museum are exhibited casts of important sculptures such as the Health 4th c. Venus (Roman copy), Asclepius (Roman era), the pediments of the temple of Asklepios, the capes of the temple of Artemis and reliefs, which are located at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens.

It contains finds from the surrounding area of Eretria that chronologically cover the periods from the Early Bronze Age to the Roman times. This major archaeological themes such as pottery, sculpture, silverwork, weapons that give an indicative picture of the culture that developed in this region and its inhabitants. The most famous exhibits in public, much more in the scientific community are small clay centaur from the cemetery of Lefkandi, the earliest representation of this mythical being, and the sculpture complex of Theseus with the Amazon Antiope from the west pediment of the Late Archaic temple Apollo Eretria.

The exhibits cover a long period, from the first appearance of man in Epirus, during the Lower Palaeolithic age 250,000 years ago, until the twilight of late antiquity in the late Roman period (3rd century AD.). Particular emphasis is given to the findings from the sanctuary of Dodona which are displayed in a room dedicated exclusively to one of the major oracles of the Greek world. The multifaceted exhibition presentation aims to illuminate various aspects of private and public life of Epirus in antiquity. Build to mainly house the findings of previous excavations, the antiquities that were collected from the Ceos antiquarian Konstantinos Manthos and excavation finds from prehistoric settlements in Kefalas and Agia Irini, and later housed the ancient surface investigations conducted in the decade 1980 and finally, the incidental findings.   It is a two storey building, without particular characteristics, dominated by the many windows along the halls of the two floors. On the ground floor are the service areas of the guest (ticket office, shop visual material and WC) as well as the maintenance workshop and warehouses. The report develops in two floors, starting chronologically from the second floor to the Prehistoric Collection (3300 - 1100 BC) and continues on the first floor, with the Collection of Historical Times (7os cent. BC - 2nd c. AD).   The recapitulation of the Archaeological Museum of Kea, presented in a modern and inventive way the old exhibits, and given the opportunity to present important findings to date had not been exposed, such as large clay female statues from the prehistoric settlement of Agia Irini (15th century . BC) and the reconstruction effort of the pediments of the Temple of Athena in Karthaia (500-490 BC).   The walls, display cases and pedestals report objects, have color in shades of blue. The internal lighting of display cases in conjunction with the natural Cycladic diffused light through the windows, it gives an excellent result. The exhibition is accompanied with visual material, tables and maps that will help the visitor to understand the history of ancient Kea.   Exhibition Units:   1.
